[ARCHIVED] Pedestrian dies following crash on Tidewater Drive

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police are continuing to investigate a crash that left a pedestrian dead.

Around 5:30 a.m. on August 20th, police were called to the 7500 block of Tidewater Drive for the report of a pedestrian who had been hit by a car.

When officers arrived, they found a 45-year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The man, identified as James R. Kilpatrick III , was taken to the hospital for treatment where he later died from his injuries.  

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

This crash investigation is ongoing; however, the findings will be turned over to the Commonwealth's Attorney Office for review.
