[ARCHIVED] Man charged following shooting in Ocean View

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A 29-year-old man is facing charges following a shooting outside of a convenience store in Ocean View on Tuesday night.

On November 25th, around 8:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the Tinee Giant parking lot located at 123 W Ocean View Avenue for the report of a shooting. When the officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Around 8:07 p.m., a second man was reported to be suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1800 block of E Ocean View Avenue, and it was determined his injuries had occurred during the shooting at 123 W Ocean View Avenue.

Both men were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The preliminary investigation revealed the two men had been having a verbal argument in the parking lot at 123 W Ocean View Avenue prior to the shooting.  

As a result, one of the reported gunshot victims, Trevonte G. Dugue, 29, of Norfolk, has been charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm. 

Additional charges are pending for the outcome of the investigation

Dugue remains hospitalized for his injuries. Once released, he will be transported to the Norfolk City Jail and held without bond.
