NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – The Norfolk Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Dec. 4th, shortly after midnight.
At approximately 12:31 a.m., officers responded to the 5600 block of Lowery Road for a report of a crash involving a Honda SUV.
The 77-year-old driver was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased by medical staff.
Investigators say neither speed nor alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The preliminary findings suggest that the driver may have experienced a medical event prior to the crash.
The driver’s identification will be released following the notification of a next of kin.
This remains an active investigation.
