You may register to vote online by visiting the Virginia Department of Elections website.

Please download a National Voter Registration Application Form from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.

You may register to vote in person in the Office of Elections, City Hall Building, Room 808, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For additional information call 757-664-4353.

You may cancel your voter registration in Norfolk by completing and submitting a Request to Cancel Voter Registration Form to the Office of Elections.

When your application for registration is approved by the General Registrar, a Voter Information Notice will be mailed to you. You will be notified if you do not qualify or if the local registrar requires more information to process your application.

You can confirm your voter registration status by visiting the Virginia Department of Elections website.

Voter registration applications are not processed during the 22 days before an election. To be eligible to vote in an election, the Voter Registration Application Form must be postmarked no later than 22 days before the election.
