NORFOLK, Va. – The City of Norfolk’s Office of Resilience will host its next “Community Corner: A Conversation on Coastal Resilience” on Thursday, Feb. 27, 3 – 6 p.m., at the Titustown Recreation Center, 7545 Diven St. This is the second in a series of events for the public to learn more about how the City is leading efforts to get ahead of flooding through the $2.6 billion Resilient Norfolk Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Project.
Residents are invited to engage with City staff from various departments and learn more about Norfolk’s Flood Strategy and the City’s goal of becoming a coastal community of the future. The primary topic focus of this Community Corner is Phase 3 of the CSRM project, which includes a storm surge barrier from Norfolk International Terminal (NIT) to the Lambert’s Point area to reduce storm surge risk to the Lafayette River watershed.
Registration is requested.
“Community Corner: A Conversation on Coastal Resilience” will take place throughout the year in locations around Norfolk. For more information on the CSRM Project, visit resilientnorfolk.com.
