NORFOLK, VA – According to the latest CDC data, Norfolk is now considered to be an area of “substantial” community transmission for COVID-19. Effective immediately, visitors to any city building are required to wear a face covering over their nose and mouth while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. City employees will continue to wear face coverings inside city buildings. Visitors are encouraged to maintain six feet of physical distance while inside city buildings.
To protect the health and safety of Recreation, Parks and Open Space members and staff, indoor group sports at Norfolk recreation centers are prohibited, effective immediately. Patrons must wear a face covering while exercising and pool use will be limited to one swimmer in each lane. City staff will continue to provide enhanced cleaning for high-touch areas.
