[ARCHIVED] Make Sure Your Vote Counts! Don’t Forget a Witness Signature on your Absentee Ballot

NORFOLK, VA –  If you are mailing or dropping off your absentee ballot for the November 2, 2021 General & Special Elections, DO NOT forget to include a witness signature.  Witness signature was waived when Virginia’s COVID state of emergency was in place.  Now that the state of emergency is lifted, a witness signature is required for all absentee ballots.

Make sure to complete the following on Envelope B:

  1. Voter name
  2. Residence address as registered
  3. Voter signature
  4. Witness signature

The Norfolk Office of Elections has instructions with the absentee ballot and information on their webpage.
