Office of Community and Public Safety

The Office of Community and Public Safety advances a coordinated, prevention-focused approach to safety by strengthening partnerships across city departments, community-based organizations, and residents.

The Office leads community-centered public safety initiatives that integrate violence prevention, public health, youth engagement, neighborhood support, and data-informed strategies to address the root causes of harm.

By aligning community violence intervention, outreach and engagement, grant-funded safety programs, and cross-sector collaboration, the Office works to build trust, reduce risk, and support long-term neighborhood stability—ensuring public safety efforts are responsive, equitable, and grounded in the lived experience of the communities they serve.
