What do I need to have?

As a property owner, tenant, or contractor, you may apply for a building permit.

If a contractor is performing work on your property, it is highly recommended that they obtain the permit and be listed as the responsible party. A property owner may choose to perform the work and obtain a permit themselves; but will also need to submit an affidavit accepting responsibility for all work performed under the permit.

To apply for a building permit, you will need:

  1. Go to the online E-Permitting Portal. (New users will need to create a free account to reach the dashboard and initiate applications.)
  2. All pertinent plans and permit applications can be completed online with required documents attached to the application;
  3. Your contractor’s license;
  4. Your contractor authorization form that lists the people allowed to pull permits for your company; and
  5.  Contact email address for your company and authorized personnel.
