SNAPET

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training (SNAPET) is a volunteer program designed to assist Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants in finding employment. If you are unemployed or underemployed, this may be just the program you need to help you get marketable job skills and secure the job!

Eligibility Requirements 

Norfolk residents currently receiving SNAP benefits and one of the criteria below;

  • Adults convicted of a recent or past misdemeanor or felony charge
  • A person between the age of 18-49 with no children on their SNAP case and no exemptions from work requirement (ABAWDS)
  • Youth or young adult transitioning out of foster care (17-27 years of age)
  • A non-custodial parent with a Department of Child Support Enforcement case with TANF debt
