Document Shredding Services

City of Norfolk staff is ready to accept your sensitive documents. Shredding services are available Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., and most Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

 Items are locked in a secured locations and typically shredded weekly on-site by a private contractor.

When bringing documents to be shredded, please remember:

  • All binders and clips must be removed.
  • Standard staples are acceptable. Industrial staples must be removed.
  • Drop off service is available for those with up to a standard shopping bag full of paper.
